In the heart of the Lenches
Our Village Hall setting is a light and airy building with access to secure outside space enabling children to undertake a wide variety of activities.
All children in our setting are supported in developing their potential at their own pace. Our Pre-school and Key Worker system enables us to ensure that a planned curriculum is tailored to the needs of each individual child.
At The Lenches Pre-school we follow Early Years Foundation Stage to ensure children receive the best start in life. Through child directed play and adult initiated activities we aim to help children acheive their full potential in each area of development.
The Key Worker system gives staff particular responsibility for just few children. Each child in the group has one special adult to relate to, which can make settling into the group much easier. Each child's development is unique and special which is why we keep detailed indivdual work profiles to monitor the progress of each child.
We also like to involve parents/carers in the children's education. Any parent who wishes to help in the setting, whether as one off or on a regular basis (subject to relevant DBS checks), should be given the opportunity to do so. In the past we welcomed parents who have shared knowledge of their hobbies and occupations. This has included gardening, piano playing and singing, General Practice doctor and midwifery.
Our setting welcomes other professionals to shaire their skills with the children. We have enjoyed session from The Lenches Tennis Club, Jamp Dance Academy, Tiny Talk sessions, Zumbini with Spohie, Animal Mania and Tesco, to name but few.
We organise many events where families can come together to celebrate special occassions. Examples include Harvest Service, The Nativity, Breakfast with Santa, Spring Brunch and Sports Day.
We work in a close relationship with local pre-schools, childminders and First schools to ensure smooth transition between settings.
All records help by The Lenches Pre-school are treated confidentially and will be passed to the prarents when their child leaves preschool. The chosen First School or a new setting will also receive a completed preschool profile, school transfer record and final report.
