Funics

A Confident Start to Reading and Writing

On Wednesday mornings we have one of the highlights of our week. We are joined by Racheal Hartless of FUNICS!

FUNICS is a fun, interactive classes aimed at pre-school aged children led by qualified teachers. Rachel is very accommodating and makes the sessions accessible to all ages of our children in attendance.

FUNICS is about sharing and developing the joy of language and helping children develop at their own pace and without pressure.

The children adore our FUNICS sessions and it is incredible to watch their confidence and skills grow. It's amazing what she does. Our children love her stories and activities.

What is Phonics?

These days everyone has heard of phonics, but lots of people don’t feel confident in knowing what it means!

Many schools and nurseries talk about phonics and send home sounds for children to learn, but often parents and carers can feel daunted by how to help their child in the best way.

Phonics is a method of learning how to read and write. It links the sounds we make to the letters (or groups of letters) we see.
